Gosh I had forgotten this thread thanks for reminding me these are so much fun to do these pictures were some of the 1st ones we ever did I will have to say we have gotten soooo much better than these show LOL! Kind of makes me want to hit the delete button to me they look crude now, huh.gif but boy we sure were proud puppies when these were 1st done! LOL! I will tell you they are rather time comsuming and yes you really do have to make sure "ALL" the water is drained out before testing!! We now give them at least 48 hours to drain and just a quick idea we turn them bottom side up and let them drain on a paper towel the 1st few hours! Also we learned crushed ice works better than just whole pieces we used my crushed ice right from my fridge! They do have a small learning curve so don't give up if your 1st ones don't look right or have huge holes on the sides, if you look close at some of these pic's you will see what I mean, we now have the process down to a art and we get some pretty amazing lace like patterns on them in fact we call them our tatted lace line! We just got a new wholesale order for some of them this past week. I will have to have my partner post some new pictures on our site for you all to see just how far we have come making them! We also discovered they really do look better done in pastel colors than bold as these are! At least in our area that is what we see. We sold some in these bold dark colors but not what we would have liked so we talked it over and just as a test changed to creams and peach and light blues yellows and WHAM people were loving them! So if you try them make one of each and see what kind of things people say! LOL! smile.gif Just have fun with them they really are amazing looking and the idea has been around for years and years just a new twist on a very old idea! biggrin.gif

Crushed ice? Wow, you would think that crushed ice would melt to quickly. I did think about the turning it up side down. Thank you for letting me know 48 hours - I was thinking 24 would do it, but you're right. Better to be safe than sorry lol.

I would love to see some new pics! Thanks! smile.gif

Ok here you go we just delivered a new wholesale order yesterday so I did manage to grab a few photos at the shop we delivered to! These are not small candles they weigh in at a little over 3 pounds! As you can see everyone is just a little different!
I hope you Enjoy Them!

Thanks I am glad you like them the 3 layer effect is just done by poking holes in and around the ice before it all melts and pouring different colors of HOT wax as it is setting up! Thes are not hard but they are rather time comsuming esp. if you want to do several colors! smile.gif

Wow! They are stunning. I'm still too scared to try my hand at simple pillar candles. unsure.gif

gorgeous, absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!
Watch your children play and see who they will become. Watch your children sleep and see who they used to be. While you are watching remember who they are NOW.
