Hello all!

I love most of the WSP scents as is (for example the Warm Vanilla Sugar FO is to die for!! Doesn't smell like Bath & Body's but does smell like Vic Secret's Vanilla Lace- INCREDIBLE! YUM!!!!!!!!!!!!) but my creative urge has me wanting to make new scents from the ones I have.

I have been searching for recipes for scent blending. (For example what does Musk mix well with?) I am trying to figure out which scent combos smell the best together + so far my trial & error has been hit or miss. Anyone have any reference(s) that can point me to general recipes for scent concocting?

I find scent building to be an art and you get better with practice. I get a lot of help in soap-making books. I have a couple with a full section on the different types of scents and the scent notes. I would suggest getting a couple of books (from the library if you don't want buy them). They are great in helping you know what types of scents blend together, what base notes to use as the foundation, and there are even some recipes!

Oh, and best part of this method is that you can test all kinds of combinations without wasting a whole lot of oil! And I just figure if I want to combine say, 2 parts orange EO with 1 part patchouli EO, I'll just throw 2 q-tips in with orange and 1 with patchouli

I too am interested in learning how to blend scents. I've been playing w/ dipping a q-tip in FO's and/ or EO's. I place the q-tips in a baggie. I note the date, what the scents are and how much of each scent is in the bag. I've noticed that some of the scents fade after while. Is there a way to prevent this? Does anyone know of a book or website that will help a beginner learn the basics of blending?
