I have Photoshop CS4 Which I use as I am a graphic Design Major. Regardless of that. You can create Stickers on Zazzle.com for your products. This is what I am doing. They come in 1 1/2 inch and 3 inch circles.

You can also use Avery.com and print out on their labels. They have FREE design software. Another great place is onlinelabels.com they have design software and even Waterproof labels that you can order.

Hope this helps!

I see this is an older post, but I use Printmaster to design my labels. For me, it is easy and versatile.

At least I know I'm not alone in my frustration with labels now. I just redid ALL of mine. My 11 year old daughter is the one that gave me the idea. My etsy shop now has a welcome message that says something like "you won't find fancy packaging here. Its more important what you find on the INSIDE of your bath and body products" and we did simple black and white labels. I'm new to this. In the first three weeks of my shop being open I had 8 sales. I changed the labels from "fancy" to simple, and held with a theme for fonts across all products...the past two days since relabeling? I now have 40+ sales! And now I'm about to blow a huge amount of those sales on new products in the WSP store and couldn't be more excited. I'll attach a picture of what I did with labeling....

How awesome for you!!! You are the first one that I have heard say they have had sales on etsy immediately after opening. You must definitely be doing something right. Congratulations! :)

I find Publisher works great for labels, I do use Corel, but most of the time Publisher since it is friendly with my label printer, which, by the way, is not particularly my friend. It has to be the most unfriendly printer I have ever owned. It is so much better if you look at label as something interesting to do and not a job and after your first few you will start getting ideas. Canstockphoto is a great place to buy images without a big outlay of money, by buying credits you pay less for the photos

Thanks!

I thought I attached a picture? Maybe that violates the forum rules? I've never been very good at using forums. Is there a certain way we need to attach them? If not there's a link to my site in my profile information on here.

I'm really shocked that switching the labeling had such an effect. I mean honestly...I went from trying to make labels that were all pretty to just doing black text on white labels or white paper cut into cigar wrappers for the soap...and I'm way too frugal to go out and buy precut label sizes when I had full letter size label paper at home. I cut them all out by hand. Yes, even the tiny lip balm pot ones. and you can totally tell I cut them by hand. I guess people like that look because it looks more homemade, maybe?

Oh. For cigar wrappers for soap..I just used Open Office...formatted a table with 5 tall columns across the page and cut and copied my design across the table. Then I just had to change ingredients info and name of soap for each one. For lip balm pots, lotion tins, and bath salts containers..I used photoshop to make the image (because I could format the image to letter size, and the layer containing label image could be formatted to exact size in inches I needed...like 1.5"X1.5")

If you upload your photos to photobucket you can then add the link in here. As far as I know the pics have to be stored in an online photo service. Photobucket is free and works great. The pics do not seem to be working right. I am playing with mine and see if the pic comes up, and the only way I am getting it to work is by the direct link option

I think they are ADORABLE. The perfect combination of cute and natural. Whatever you use for your hard lotion is a keeper. The textured sides drew me in immediately! And Lucy is right, success on etsy is to be commended. I have heard so many horror stories, I never jumped in! Congrats!
